STEM Partnership Program

SU ADVANCE strives to have all STEM faculty members engage as leaders and active participants in creating a diverse faculty and inclusive environment. The STEM Partnership Program was implemented to support male faculty in engaging, and if perhaps leading, institutional transformation. Male participants in summer of 2009 focus groups felt that increasing awareness among male faculty members about the issues and the extent of concern was a critical aspect of this ongoing effort. The Program is designed based on intergroup dialogue principles and methods and includes four sessions of readings, discussions and reflections based on challenges and experiences of STEM women faculty at SU and in the STEM disciplines. The Program concludes with the consideration to pledge as a partner in change.
